A new sport package has been added to the available options for buyers of Maserati’s GranTurismo S Automatic in Britain.
This Sport pack is said to enhance the GranTurismo S Automatic’s performance by adding the MC Auto Shift software that allows for faster gear changes and a revised exhaust system, which keeps its bypass valves fully open in Sport mode to provide what the company describes as “an even richer sound”.
The Fiat Group is getting ready to take its alliance with Chrysler to the next level with the presentation of three new models including an SUV and two luxury sports sedans, all using key technology and components from the Chrysler Group’s lineup, according to a report from Autonews.
First up is the long-rumored Maserati SUV model, which is said to be previewed by a concept study (not to be confused with the independent design rendering by Andrey Trofimchuk that is pictured in this article) at the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, before landing in showrooms in 2013.
Revealed to the public at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the Maserati GranCabrio Sport is the flagship version of the Italian firm’s four-seat convertible model. Following the international press drive in Trieste, Italy last week, Maserati has now announced the launch of its new soft-top sports car.
In the UK, the harder-edged GranCabrio is priced at £102,615 on the road, with the first right-hand examples to reach the market in early October.
Enough is never enough for vehicle tuning houses like Novitec Tridente, which has presented its latest line of enhancements for the Maserati GranCabrio. Bone stock, the drop-top variant of the GT gets a 4.7-liter V8 engine that cranks out 440HP at 7,000 rpm and 490Nm (362 lb-ft) of torque at 4,750 rpm.
The installation of a supercharger system along with a watercooled intercooler and a modified ECU, help boost output to an impressive 590HP at 7,300 rpm and 572Nm (421.9 lb-ft), consequentially allowing for a new 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) time of 4.5 seconds.
Wald International has unveiled their new Black Bison styling package for the Maserati Quattroporte.
Up front, the tuner installs a new bumper, a carbon fiber splitter, and LED daytime running lights. Out back, there’s a revised rear bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler, a trunk-mounted spoiler, and a chrome-plated sport exhaust system. Elsewhere, the car is outfitted with aerodynamic side skirts and massive wheels.
