Japanese buyers are no strangers to special edition versions with extremely subtle modifications, the newest one coming from Honda with its CR-Z ‘Label α’ model, which goes on sale this week and will be available for a limited release until May 31.

What makes the ‘Label α’ special in Honda’s eyes is the bespoke burgundy pearl metallic finish on the outside with a matching interior color for the seats, door panels and the stitching on the leather steering wheel and manual gearbox shifter.

Over the past few months we’ve brought you pictures of camouflaged prototypes, the loosely disguised concept and even the patent designs of the next 2012 Honda CR-V, but today, thanks to our tipster Andy Ye, we bring you the first official images of the final production model.

Not surprisingly, the styling changes over the concept CR-V we saw this summer are restricted to the matte finish of the plastic cladding on the body, the smaller wheels and the clear graphics on the headlamps and tail lamps.

Honda has revealed the CR-V Concept debut at the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim, California. The all-new generation CR-V will hit the market by the end of the year and will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

“The 2012 CR-V Concept strongly hints at the more dynamic and refined look of the upcoming model,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda.

With only a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine at it’s disposal, the Honda Civic Type R never got to shine in the hothatch market like rivals from Ford and Renault. However, that hasn’t stopped in-house specialists MUGEN from trying to make it better and better.

By now, you’ll all have heard of the radical car they’ve come up with, but just before the unveiling of a new generation Civic in Frankfurt, they’ve pulled a rabbit out of their hat and brought a bigger engine for the Type R.

After a bit of a tease in late July, it’s time for Honda to detail the changes on its 2012 Pilot SUV that has received a mild facelift as well as some mechanical and equipment upgrades.

So what’s new? Let’s start with the exterior. Up front, the most evident change is a new and more “politically correct” grille with a three-bar horizontal design that replaces the letter-box style six-sided grille insert.
