We don’t know about you, but the thought of owning one of the 150 V12 Zagato cars is very appealing. Yes, it’s just a Vantage in disguise, but what a stunning piece of disguise this is, the perfect blend of elegance and sportiness.

These muscular coupe is 4385mm long, 1865 wide, 1250 high, and comes with a wheelbase 2600mm long. In true custom style, the track is also slightly wider at the back. Despite taking on the racing circuits to prove its reliability, it’s not a car designed only to go fast, as it still weighs 1680 kilograms and comes with a plush interior.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato will be appearing in September at the 64th IAA International Motor Show at Frankfurt. Along with the largest display of contemporary Aston Martins ever seen at a Motor Show, two V12 Zagatos, both having completed their engineering sign-off at the Nurburgring 24 hour race, will be shown for the first time at a mainstream event.

Hand assembled at the company’s global headquarters in Gaydon, England, the V12 Zagato is based on the highly acclaimed V12 Vantage and features a beautiful ’handcrafted‘ aluminium and carbon fibre body. Combining traditional craftsmanship and high technology, the V12 Zagato also boasts Aston Martin’s most dynamic bonded aluminium platform and the power of the company’s acclaimed 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS), and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato: Italian Elegance Meets British Brute Force

Some companies really know how to celebrate. Take AstonMartin and Zagato, for example. The iconic British sports car maker and the legendary Italian coachbuilder will mark the 50th anniversary of their first collaboration with a brand new study.

To honor their first joint project, the 1961 DB4GT Zagato, the two companies developed the Aston Martin V12 Zagato, a race car study that will be unveiled on May 21 at the Villa D’Este Concorsod’Eleganza in Italy, where it will compete against the Ferrari Superamerica 45. But this elegant and dramatic coupe was not built for classy Concours d’Elegance events alone, as it will actually race at the Nurburgring 24 Hour event on June 25-26.

Earlier today, we told you about a new development coming from Wheelsandmore, with the tuning package being destined for the Audi R8 V10 Spyder. Now we are back with a tuning kit coming from the same aftermarket developer. However, this time, the mods target the Aston Martin Vantage.

The Brit is wearing the same rims as the German, which means that we’ve got the same recipe: a topless creation that rides on 3-piece 6SPorz rims. The wheels come in a 21-inch size and are wrapped in high-performance tires.

Few automakers sell sexy as well as Aston Martin.

Others may try, but competition demands they back up their stellar good looks with performance – oh, the burden. Take Ferrari and Lamborghini, the two Italians, as an example. Their sensual bodywork drops jaws at one hundred yards, but they also have to shoehorn in uber-powerful engines or else consumers will cry foul. Audi is another example. The German’s luscious R8 was just that, but needed a V10 to truly stand proud. It seems that consumers simply won’t tolerate sleek bodywork unless there’s performance to substantiate it.
